Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ward’s Funeral Home for Rev. Roy Lee, 86, of Gainesville. Rev. Stanley Jackson will officiate. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Lee passed away peacefully Saturday, February 9, 2019.

Mr. Lee was a Godly man, devoted husband, father and grandfather. A native of Jackson county, Mr. Lee was the son of the late Garland and Noler Lee and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife, Ellen Lee; children, Donnie and Danna Lee, Mike and Janet Lee, Debbie Deyton and Gary Allen, Doug and Bobbie Lee and Sherry Brown; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

so sorry for your loss.I always loved preacher Lee.He could make you laugh,even when you didnt think you could.Sherry and I used to call him and my dad and uncle Gene the three stooges when they would get together.At first there were tears when I found out he was gone home to be with Jesus.then I had to smile, because the three stooges are together again.I have a lot of wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.So Esther, i know you will miss him.But, maybe you can smile when you think of him and dad aggravating each other again.Love all you guys. I wish I could be there in person to express my condolences in person.

Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow that I feel for the passing of Roy Lee.

A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven.

Death can never take a good man away, for, in the hearts of the people he inspired, the legacy remains and continuous throughout generations. He was a great teacher and father to many and may his soul find eternal rest
